Fraternity is about Brotherhood. That is the basic idea that all fraternities were founded on. At the University of Illinois, more students have discovered that than at any other campus - U of I has the largest Greek system in the country. Which will make your decision even harder, since there are over 50 chapters.
The values of the Interfraternity Council are much like our own: http://www.illinigreeks.com/page.php?page_id=1786&parent_id=1786

Pi Kappa Phi is a Fraternity redefined. The chapter was founded by a handful of brothers who were never interested in Greek life, until they realized what it could be if they started from scratch.
Our founding fathers started this chapter to offer something different on the University of Illinois campus. Pi Kappa Phi is the place where you will find good Men of CLASS (Character, Leadership, Academics, Sportsmanship, and Service).
Pi Kappa Phi's brotherhood is based on an idea that many fraternities do not share. We do not have a class heirarchy. We do not haze. As soon as you enter our chapter as an Associate Member, you are a Brother. The different title only means that you still are going through Member Education and are not yet initiated.

To be a Pi Kapp, you first need to share our ideals and our vision of the future. Pi Kappa Phi's Student Creed is memorized by every member. It is what we use in our day to day life as Pi Kapps. The chapter's Mission Statement is always taken into consideration when decisions are made. It could be the decesion of the chapter to make a certain tshirt or to throw a party - or it could be made by an individual about his personal conduct.
Pi Kappa Phi at U of I prides itself on offering you the opportunities that you will need in order to make the most out of your college experience, as well as preparing you to be a successful individual way beyond your time here at the University.
